in the discount card program. It is actually
Gymboree Play & Music, in South Portland,
that is offering a 30% discount with the
AFFM discount card.
I apologize for all of the
confusion and would like to say thank you
to both businesses and all of the families
for your patience. For more information

Grandma's Hugs are Made of Love
Everything my grandma does
is something special made with love.
She take time to add the extra touch
that says, "I love you very much."
She fixes hurts with a kiss and smile
and tell good stories grandma-style.
It's warm and cozy on her lap
for secret telling or a nap.
And when I say my prayer at night,
I ask God to bless and hold her tight.
Cause when it comes to giving hugs
my grandma's arms are filled with love!

Non-Verbal Learning
Disabilities
Dr. Podraza, a psychologist at Maine Rehabilitation
Neuropsychology Service, will provide participants
with information on what non-verbal learning
disability (NVLD) is. NVLD is a developmental
disability, which all too often goes undiagnosed.

but may have difficulty interacting with peers,
acquiring self-help skills, have difficulty
adapting to new situations and struggle with
motor coordination. The workshop will also
include an overview of brain structure and
functions, developmental manifestations, assessment
and intervention/remedial techniques for both
home and the classroom. This workshop will
help parents understand why children with
NVLD act the way they do as well as the impact
that brain trauma can have on a child's
behavior and cognitive functioning. There
will be lots of opportunities to answer your
specific questions!
This free workshop will be held Wednesday,
December 14 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the
University College Center, 201 Texas Ave.,
in Bangor.
